I run supply chain and plant operations for a consumer-goods company — fourteen years across warehousing, distribution, plant planning and vendor management in Pune, Bhiwandi and Gurugram. My work is simple to describe and hard to do: the right stock, at the right depot, on the right day, at a cost the business can live with. I have set up two regional distribution centres from bare shed to go-live, moved a 40-crore spares inventory onto SAP, and trained teams of forklift operators, planners and area sales managers to speak the same numbers.
